Bird Proofing

Pigeons and seagulls can cause a particular nuisance if they choose to roost or rest on your building, and if left they can even present a health hazard as well as an unsightly build-up of droppings.

The use of pigeon netting is one of the most effective and long-lasting methods of bird pest control, helping to protect a building against urban birds. Don't Look Down Rope Access Ltd use quality polyethylene bird netting, which is effective in proofing light wells, building frontages, canopies, roof spaces, eaves and other areas colonised by pigeons, gulls, starlings and house sparrows.

The standard netting is black in colour and made from a 12/6 polyethylene knotted twine, manufactured to a net mesh of either 75mm, 50mm, 28mm or 19mm, depending on which species of bird is proving to be most problematic. The nets are attached to a 2mm stainless steel perimeter wire, which is held in place by a variety of stainless steel intermediate fixings.

The wire is then tensioned using stainless steel barrel strainers, and the net is then attached using stainless steel hog rings. 

Bird spikes are made from premium-grade stainless steel. They can be fixed to guttering, window sills or walls to prevent birds from landing. We have reliable methods of keeping buildings free of birds of all types.
